MotoGP™ Ignition — Closed Alpha Launch
We are excited to finally be able to announce the beginning of the MotoGP™ Ignition game launch with the closed Alpha release.
This coming release is all about having players experience the core aspects of the game and gather feedback, using that feedback to then push toward delivering the platform we have always worked to build.
Alpha Launch Event In Brief:
- The MotoGP™ Ignition Closed Alpha begins 31 July 2023
- To access the Alpha, you will need to have played MotoGP™ Ignition Champions by 14 July 2023
- A demo of the gameplay and a talk with the team will be watchable on the REVV Show on 28 July 2023
MotoGP™ Ignition Game
The central game experience of MotoGP™ Ignition is a race strategy game. The purpose of the Alpha is to get your feedback on this core experience. The release will provide the race simulation engine and race tournament structures.
Once there is enough comfort with this core, we will then be able to build the support structures and features for the game, build out the metagame, and create a full experience that all players will enjoy spending their time playing.
What we would like from you during this release is to see that we are on the right track with what we have created so far.
Getting to Know MotoGP™ Ignition: REVV Show Episode
We have a special MotoGP™ Ignition REVV Show scheduled for 28 July 2023, which will have our faithful host Matt Solomon sit with the design team, and walk through the experience, and play the game.
Alpha Launch: What to Know
How do I access the Alpha?
First, you need to have played MotoGP™ Ignition Champions — with the last applicable Champions 14 July 2023. Eligible players will then be able to access the game through the MotoGP™ Ignition website by clicking the “Alpha” option in the navigation bar at the top of the website.
What do I need to play?
Firstly, you will need to ensure that you are on the allow list for the Alpha to access the game. To play the game itself, you will need to have 4 Cards of the same team — 1 Team Card, 1 Bike Card, and 2 Rider Cards.
- You can browse for and purchase cards at the MotoGP™ Ignition Market.
- You can also get the REVV you need to purchase cards from the MotoGP™ Ignition website, after connecting your wallet.
Will there be rewards?
Yes, SHRD and REVV will be rewarded for placing in tournaments. The reward structures present during the Alpha are subject to change both during and after the Alpha period has ended.
Is there a fee to play?
No, there is no additional fee to play events during the closed Alpha. This will change in the future as we release different event structures, but for now, you will just need 2020 Season Cards. Note: Support for Hot Shots will come in the future.
Is there a time limit?
The Alpha will run for 3 weeks, ending on 19 August 2023.
Anything else I should know?
This is an early version of the game. Bugs and balance issues should be expected. For the best experience, it’s recommended to use Chrome, Firefox or Brave web browsers. There is currently no hardware benchmark at this time.
Also, with this first release Hot Shots will not be supported, along with the Suzuki team. We are still going through design for support of both of these within the game.
Your Feedback
The most important aspect of this release is your feedback. This is the first release of MotoGP™ Ignition’s core gameplay mode, and it’s integral for the development going forward that we hear from you. We will have a Google Form published to social media for some specific feedback we’d like to receive, but we’re also looking for a free and open dialog in the community channels. We want to build your game.
Beyond Alpha
The Alpha is an important milestone in determining the next steps we take. We have a destination but we want to ensure it aligns with the expectation of our players. The feedback we receive will define the direction that MotoGP™ Ignition takes.
